Arizona trip [grand canyon]

I have to get better about staying caught up on posts! Sorry everyone. Today I’ll wrap up our Arizona trip pictures with the grand canyon! We set out early in the morning (really like 8am our time) to drive up to Cameron’s Trading Post for a good meal before we adventured the day away. Our GPS told us we had about 40 minutes until we arrived there, but all of the sudden we saw Cameron’s on our left! Good thing we didn’t listen to the GPS. That happened one other time with my friends in Florida. We listened though.

We ate gigantic pancakes, bigger than our faces pancakes, and a lot of sides (because we were not aware of the size of the pancakes), drank a lot of water, and headed to the Grand Canyon. We stopped first at a tower where we got out first view of the canyon. While we were there it started hailing. We got in free the whole day, and I’m pretty sure it’s because the weather was so crazy. So we got back in the car and pulled off at a few more stops to see the view before we parked and hiked. We took the shortest (probably easiest) hike down because of time restraints (and lets be honest, we were exhausted from constant adventures). It was the South Kaibab trail if anyone wanted to know. It was about 45 minutes down to the first point where it opened up, it was the “ooh-ahh point”. Named very accurately. It was gorgeous. We sat for a bit and took pictures then started the climb back up. Wow it was much harder. Anyone with me? We took lots of breaks and eventually made it back up to the top.

I don’t know how someone can see a place like the canyon and not wonder about God. It was absolutely incredible. I felt very small. He sure does have a knack for beauty.  I’ll go ahead and overload you with pictures now. I hope you enjoy! If anyone has good GC stories or advise on which trails are awesome, feel free to comment!

This last photo was our last picture in Arizona. It was in Phoenix while we were killing time before our flight home, we had been looking for a cactus to take a picture with the whole time. Success on the last day:)
