peonies

When I moved to Indiana to live with Scott after we got married I did A LOT of decorating to turn his bachelor pad into our home. It’s pretty cozy now and I feel really happy about it. There may or may not be a lot of teal around here, and we may or may not have painted our peeling rocking chairs teal, but its pretty precious if you ask me.

One thing I didn’t expect was the amazing garden this house has. I had NOTHING to do with it, obviously. I’ve had a pack of watermelon seeds for over a month now that I have yet to plant. Guess what showed up in a sweet bouquet my husband picked for me from the garden the other day?! Peonies. Any red blooded Southern girl knows my excitement at that statement. I can picture my friends gasping out of excitement (maybe it’s just us?).

So to celebrate these beautiful blooms, I of course grabbed my 50mm 1.4 lens and set up a peony photo shoot. I can picture my husband shaking his head, because he already did after he said something along the lines of “You just did a flower photo shoot?”. We have freshly painted  and distressed rocking chairs, so it was a no brainer.

Lots of words for flowers, but hey, I really love pretty things. Enjoy friends!
