topsail beach

Last week I got to go along with Scott, his family, and the Millers on their annual family vacation! It was so wonderful. They’ve been doing a joint family vacation for a really long time.

We left on Friday morning, Scott picked me up from Reality’s, and we hit the road to meet up with Ryan, Leah, and Coen.

I was super impressed that Coen made it the whole way to Greensboro without crying. He is 2. He just asked me what I was doing a whole lot, which was pretty cute.

We stopped at Tamarack (of course):) and celebrated Ryan’s birthday when we got to the hotel in Greensboro. I had no idea we were passing through Greensboro, much less staying there, so I ended up getting to grab breakfast with my Dad and Stepmom, who were both there. Perfect! They hadn’t  met Scott yet, they loved him. Treat.

We got to the house and I was in shock. It was gigantic and was right on the beach. There were somewhere around 9 rooms, 3 floors, an elevator, the biggest dining room table you’ve ever seen, and each room had it’s own full bathroom. Awesome. Oh, and the bottom floor porch wrapped all the way around the house.

I’ll go ahead and start the pictures, I’ll write fun things in between each:)

The kids were too cute. These 2 little guys are both 2, so they get to start another generation of Henderson/Miller friendships. I love it. I keep wanting to call them cousins. Not true.

There was a lot of board games, card games, and playing in the sand. Usually the guys make a giant sand castle, that did not happen this year, but it was awesome watching the kids just run and fall down in the sand. That walkway in the upper left corner went from the deck to the sand.

Every morning I woke up, had my quiet time up on the top deck, then went for a walk/jog on the beach. It was awesome to get to soak the Lord in surrounded by ocean and sand. I also took a walk with Leah most days, and one with her and Allie before her and Matt went to Charleston. It was really great to get to talk with them and know them better.

Ok, can you tell I got a lot of pictures of the kids? These two were so cute together. Tripp would give the camera the cutest looks. He would even give cute looks if he was runnning past it.

I wish I would have got a picture of Matt and Allie and Mark and Darci like this to put in here:(

These were really sweet. Jake had just got back from a run, so Erin was trying to get away. They are some of my favorite pics from the week.

The sky was overcast and foggy in the mornings, but the sunsets were really pretty. Scott and I got to go on a walk around sunset most days. It was great spending time with him. We don’t get to do that usually. I am pretty sure I am spoiled now and it’s really hard to go back to seeing each other 2-3 times a month.

Again, cute kids. Mark and Darci showed up the second day with 2 more cute kids:) I probably would have only taken 100 pictures if it hadn’t been for them.

The boys after their basketball game. I really like the ones with Coen sitting with them. Too cute.

I like him. He does not like getting his picture taken. Lucky for him he’s dating me. I never take pictures:)

We have a lot of pictures together now:) These are my favorites.

The Henderson boys all look alike. Even Coen. When he gets dark hair it will be crazy. I should have got a picture of all the generations.

Sweet:)

So so cute.

This was the sunrise the last morning I was there. How incredible is that? I want to see that every morning. The beach is way too far away:)

The house we stayed in and the sunrise the second to last morning. the round part on the left of the house has a giant round table that seats about 18 or so people. I want one.

After the first time walking the the pier, I wanted to go take pictures under it so bad. How pretty is it? I loved it.

This was funny. My camera was on a tripod, and I took a timed picture that took 10 shots. At the end of the 10 the water came up a little too high:)

He loved Don. This is one of my favorites.

She LOVED the water. Sweetest thing ever.

It was a wonderful week. We ate in most nights. Jake and Erin cooked for us the first 2 nights, We ordered food a couple nights, and the last 2 nights we ate out. Scott and I went on a double date with Mark and Darci one night, then all the Henderson’s went out to eat my last night there.

It was great to just relax, read, play games, and hang out with everyone all week. I hated leaving. Don told me that no matter what Scott chooses to do with me, I was invited every year to take pictures. That is a deal. I am in.

Thank you, Henderson’s and Miller’s, for letting me come along! I had a wonderful week.
